Creating Communication Excellence
Intended Audience
Any management or middle management level employee or any professional who needs to clearly communicate with otherswhich means its for everyone. This is a short intensive workshop on the skills, beliefs and knowledge required in truly effective communication in business and in life.

An NLP Approach to Writing
Based on the book by Dr. Jacobson & Dixie Hickman, Ph.D.
Intended Audience
Any management or middle management level employee or any professional who needs to clearly communicate in writing. This is an intensive workshop on the skills required to produce effective written communication. It is aimed at defeating blocks and other common problems people face when trying to convert their ideas into words on paper. Included are the mental states and thinking required to plan, organize, execute, edit and revise any business or professional writing project from memos and letters to advertising copy to legal briefs and extensive reports.
Note: No rules of grammar, sentence or paragraph structure, spelling or other mechanics are included in this course. It is aimed at the communication process and procedures for getting thoughts onto paper in an organized, timely and effective manner.

Each participant in the course will learn the following:
An understanding of the basic communication model and a thorough understanding of the POWER Model of writing and how to apply it to any writing project.
The steps in planning a writing project, including determining the writer's role and point of view, choosing specific goals & outcomes, analyzing the intended reader(s), narrowing the level of language and style, appropriately choosing the content.
Strategies for organizing the project in a way that serves the intended purpose and matches the readers needs.
A method for getting the work on paper quickly and without the usual anguish.
How to systematically edit and revise the work.
How to effectively sell your ideas, in a way that compels your reader to take action.
Course Methodology
This course is a combination of lecture, communication exercises and writing exercises. Participants should bring at least one current writing project that they will work on during the workshop. This will insure that the skills are directly applied to ongoing work, as well as helping to actually finish the project, simultaneously.
