Certifications in Neuro-Linguistic Programming

The South Central Institute of NLP is licensed to give certifications for Practitioners and Master Practitioners of Neuro-Linguistic Programming by The Society of NLP. Certification is granted jointly by The South Central Institute and the Society of NLP, through Richard Bandler and Associates, in California. Certificates are signed by Sid Jacobson and Richard Bandler.

A special note on NLP Certification

There are many organizations providing certification in the NLP community. Some are members of the Society of NLP, the traditional licensing organization, and some are not. The quality of training, or the certificate granted for that matter, aren’t necessarily connected to who grants certification. Regulation of certificates and institutes throughout the world is, essentially, non-existent, regardless of what you may find to the contrary. The South Central Institute has been a member of the Society of NLP since the beginning. Reputable institutes throughout the world recognize our certifications and accept our students for advanced training. If you want to know more about the certificates we grant, you can contact us, or use the link to The Society of NLP to contact them directly.

The decision to be certified as a Practitioner or Master Practitioner of NLP is a distinctly personal one. Some people need the certificate for business or professional purposes. Others like to collect all the ‘‘papers’’ they can. Others simply want to feel the completion that comes with an assessment and a certificate. This is not a license to open a practice as a psychotherapist, though some people certainly open practices when they get certified. Each state in the U.S. has its own licensing requirements, and state statutes governing who can do what, what they can call themselves, and what limitations they have. Some licensing boards, in some professions even outside of the therapeutic community, accept this training as part of the professional training for that particular state license, others do not. Some recognize NLP training for continuing education purposes, others do not. There is no consistency, pattern, or common sense applied as far as I can determine. A good idea is to check your professional requirements before spending time, money, or effort towards whatever you do, in any country or profession. Remember, though, that any good training is valuable, regardless of the papers that come with it.
